Lay in a TabsII panel and mark its height from the bottom of your project.
Using a chalk line, mark a horizontal line across your project to help keep TabsII panels straight.
Find and mark the vertical studs in the wall. Use a Chalk line or level to strike lines on each stud. You should have a grid on the wall after this step.
Now you will install the TabwII panels.
Starting in the bottom corner of your project, Screw in a TabsII panel.
As you put the panels in place, you will need to cut holes to accommodate your plugs and light switch openings. Measure and mark the location on the panel. Cut using tin snips or other metal cutting tool. You should wear gloves for this step.
Cover the entire project with the TabsII panels.
If you have an outside corner in your project, it is not necessary to bend the panels around the corners Simply cut the panels to fit.
With all the panels in place, it is now time to install the thin brick. If there is an outside corner in your project, you will start there at the bottom of the wall. Otherwise you will start there using regular thin bricks.
Lay out several thin bricks upside down. One corner for each row if necessary. Apply TabsII Wall System Adhesive to the back of each thin brick.
Begin laying the thin brick leaving approximately 1/2 inch between each thin brick.
Press each thin brick firmly against the TabsII panel. It will adhere immediately but will take approximately an hour to set up.
As you start the second row, stagger the first thin brick. If you have an outside corner in your project, you will turn each oustide corner piece opposite the last to accommodate the staggered pattern. No cutting required!
Have fun with it! Laying Do It Yourself Thin Brick is so easy even a child can do it. Make a family project of it.
Some cutting will be necessary. A standard wet saw will make short work of cutting thin brick. Just measure, mark and cut.
